The Virginia Schroeder Memorial Care Fund

Thanks to a bequest from Virginia M. Schroeder, the Council is offering financial assistance to the caregivers of the elderly and infirm in our area.  The bequest, which totals almost $900,000, directs us to grant all of the principal and interest generated by the fund within ten years.  Grants are to be used by caregivers in need of respite  to secure the services of health care professionals during the respite period for families who could not otherwise afford such assistance.

In keeping with the terms of the bequest grant requests must be directed to the Council by member clergy.  Clearly, then, this fund, and the critical relief it can offer to some of our most dedicated and overlooked caregivers, is a wonderful new benefit of congregational membership in the Council. One request we have is that clergy utilizing the Virginia Schroeder Fund be members of the InterFaith Council.  This is a very simple and cost-effective thing to do.  How to Join
